The 2020 edition

Sotacarbo is holding its Annual International Summer School on CCUS and Low Carbon Technologies from 8th to 12th June 2020 at its Research Centre in Carbonia, Italy. There will be 40 places available for Italian and international Ph.D. students and young researchers engaged in energy-related research and interested in low carbon energy conversion from several different angles: technologies, environmental effects, economic and legal issues, and more.

Sotacarbo Summer School has been designed mainly to give students information on the most recent technological improvements in the low carbon energy conversion field. One of the School’s main goal is also to offer to participants the opportunity to experience a broader and deeper understanding of specific topics like power generation from renewable energy sources (with particular reference to biomass) and the application of carbon dioxide capture, utilization and storage to power generation and industry.

The registration is free of charge and enables the full participation to the event: frontal lectures (performed by very eminent international speakers), students’ interactive program, technical and touristic visits, meals and the access to the School material (presentations, posters and other technical documents).

Participants are invited to present a poster with their research work on CCUS-relevant topics. The poster (70×100 cm), which will be exposed during the event and shared with the participant through the electronic platform, has to be sent four weeks in advance to be printed by the School organisation.

The 8th edition of the Sotacarbo Summer School is organized within the “Centre of Excellence on Clean Energy” project (CUP: D83C17000370002), funded by the Regional Government of Sardinia (FSC 2014-2020).
