Dr. Shahnam has 30 years of experience in the areas of computational fluid dynamics, multiphase flow modeling, heat transfer, combustion and laser diagnostics. He is a member of the Multiphase Flow Sciences Team at the National Energy Technology Laboratory in West Virginia, USA. His research for the past 10 years has been focused in the area of computational model development and their application to a variety of energy conversion technologies such as solid oxide fuel cells, fluidized bed and transport gasifiers, CO2 capture and gas stream desulfurization with solid sorbent.
